Act Development Journal

Take your act development seriously! Develop - it's an active verb - so actively develop them.

If you have an act you're building, and you have big goals for it, you're going to need to put big effort into it. Document the process and hold yourself accountable! I keep an act development journal - each act that I'm developing gets a few pages dedicated.

Part vision board, part to do list, part strategy planning. I include sketches or song brainstorming! A detailed breakdown of what needs to happen for each area: costuming, music, props, choreography, etc.

I can put important dates (debuts or costuming deadlines) and a progress tracker all in one visual place.

It's so satisfying to flip through and look at all the acts I've been working on! I also track revamps/rebuilds the same way. Great way to see your progress over time and visualize the amount of work you have (or need to) put into the project!

As someone with a really scattered brain, this kind of visualization is critical!

How do you manage your act development?

Stay Sparkly, XO
